Cortés Part 1 + 2

Synopsis
Synopsis Part 1
In 1519, restless soldier Hernán Cortés defies orders and sails from Cuba toward the Yucatán, chasing glory beyond the reach of kings. Landing on a vast new continent, he and his men encounter the splendor of the indigenous world and meet Marina, a brilliant enslaved woman who becomes his interpreter and weapon.
As they march inland, Cortés bends faith and fear to his will—burning ships, forging alliances, and slaughtering foes. His ambition transforms him from explorer to self-anointed messiah. Reaching the heights above Tenochtitlán, the shining city of the Aztec Empire, Cortés gazes down and whispers: “Now destiny begins.”
Synopsis Part 2
Cortés and his men enter Tenochtitlán, awed by its splendor. Emperor Moctezuma, believing a prophecy fulfilled, welcomes them as divine guests. For a fleeting moment, two worlds coexist—gold traded for faith, faith for power.
But Cortés’s ambition knows no limits. He imprisons Moctezuma, turns allies into pawns, and leaves to fight rival Spaniards, returning to a city in revolt. As famine and fire consume Tenochtitlán, Marina translates the cries of the dying while Cortés claims divine victory. When the smoke clears, the empire has fallen—and the conqueror stands alone, triumphant yet hollow, in the ruins of the New World.
